Mr. Arsenio N. Tanco is a Member of the Board of Philippines First Insurance for more than forty years (since 1974). He brings to the Board his varied expertise in manufacturing and services. Mr. Tanco is the as the CEO of Manila Bay Spinning Mills, Inc. He serves as the President and Executive Chairman of Coats Manila Bay, Inc. He serves as director of Manila Bay Hosiery Mills, Inc. and Asian Terminal Inc.

Mr. Tanco finished Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the Mapua Institute of Technology in 1953. He completed his post-graduate degree of MS Textile Manufacturing in 1955 at the North Carolina State University.

Ms. Ester T. Gabaldon has been a Member of the Board since 1975. She holds the position of Senior Vice President. She brings to the board her expertise in finance, insurance and real estate. She is a Member of the Board and Finance Director of Coats Manila Bay, Inc. and Manila Bay Spinning Mills, Inc. Ms. Gabaldon serves as Member of the Board and Treasurer of Diliman Realty & Development Corp., Malanday Realty & Development Corp., and MBS Realty Development Inc.

A Certified Public Accountant, Ms. Gabaldon graduated Bachelor of Science in Commerce Major in Accounting at St. Theresa’s College.

Mr. Melito S. Salazar, Jr. is the Independent Director since 2015. Mr. Salazar was previously employed as VP-Advertising & Compliance Officer by Manila Bulletin Publishing Corp., Managing Head & Vice Chairman-Investment Board by Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas, an Independent Director by Fil-Hispano Corp, Chairman by Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines, Chairman by FINEX Research & Development Foundation, Inc., Undersecretary by Philippines Department of Trade & Industry, President by Small Enterprise Research & Development Foundation, President by The Management Association of the Philippines, Associate Professor-Business Administration by University of the Philippines, and President by UPMBA Society, Inc. He is a Chairman at InterAsia Development Bank and International Center on Innovation Transformation & Excellence. Mr. Salazar is the President at Chamber of Commerce of The Philippines Foundation, Inc. and Vice Chairman at PVB Card Corp. He is on the Board of Directors of Rizal Commercial Banking Corp., Concepcion Industrial Corp.

He received his undergraduate degree and his MBA from the University of the Philippines.

Atty. Jose F. Buenaventura is a Member of the Board since 2005. He serves as the President of Consolidated Coconut Corporation, La Concha Land Investments Corporation and Ananda Phils. He is a Senior Partner of the Romulo, Mabanta, Buenaventura, Sayoc & De los Angeles Law Firm. He serves as Corporate Secretary of Country Club Development Corp., The Country Club, Inc. and Peter Paul Philippine Corp., and is the Assistant Corporate Secretary of Johnson & Johnson (Phils.), Inc. He also serves as Independent Director at BDO Unibank, Inc. He is a Director of Cebu Air, Inc. He serves as a Director of Agrotex Commodities, Inc., Philippine First Insurance Co., Inc., Philam Plans, Inc. Apo Fruits Corporation, Ballet Philippines, Cargill Seeds, Inc., Euroville Realty Development Corporation, La Concha Land Investment Corporation, San Dionisio Realty Corporation, Sanitary Wares Manufacturing Corporation, Security Risks International, Inc., Turner Entertainment Manila, Inc. and United Technologies Automotive Phils., Inc. He served as Director of Otis Elevator Company (Phils.), Inc.

Atty. Monico “Nick” Jacob, is a Member of the Board of Philippines First Insurance since 2017. He brings to the Board his expertise in insurance, marketing, communication, public relations and services. Mr. Jacob has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of STI Education Systems Holdings Inc., STI Education Services Group, Inc., Insurance Builders, Inc. and Philippine Life Finance Insurance Corporation. He serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of PhilPlans First Inc. He serves as a Special Counsel at the law firm of Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc De Los Angeles, specializing in energy and corporate law. He serves as the President of STI-Universal Workers, Inc. He serves as the President of the Philippine Women’s University, Jose Abad Santos Memorial School, West Negros University (WNU), Information and Communications Technology Academy, Inc. (iACADEMY) and the De Los Santos-STI College of Health Professions (DLS-STI). He acts as an Advisor to clients needing corporate restructuring, energy and general legal advice in his capacity as special counsel to the law firm of Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc De Los Angeles and Chief Executive Officer of ARMC Asset Management Corporation. He serves as a Partner in the law firm Jacob & Jacob.

Atty. Jacob is a graduate of AB Liberal Arts at the Ateneo de Naga University and Post Graduate of Bachelor of Laws at the Ateneo de Manila University.

Mr. William H. Tanco is a Member of the Board and the Managing Director of Philippines First Insurance starting 2016. He brings to the Board his varied expertise in insurance, manufacturing and services. He earned his degree in BS Business Administration from De La Salle University.

Mr. Joseph Augustin “Jaeger” Tanco is the youngest Member of the Board. He became a member of the Board in 2016. He is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Maestro Holdings, Inc., Philippine Life Financial Assurance Corporation, PhilhealthCare, Inc., and Comm&Sense, Inc. He is also a Director of STI Education System Holdings, Inc.

Mr. Tanco serves as the Director and Treasurer of PhilPlans First, Inc., Director and Member of the Nomination and Election Committee of STI Education Services Group, Inc., Director and Vice President of EujoPhils. Inc., Director of Maestro Holdings, Inc. (formerly STI Investments, Inc.), iAcademy, PhilsFirst Insurance Corporation, STI West Negros University, Capital Managers and Advisors, Inc., Prime Power Holdings Corporation, Global Resource for Outsourced Workers (GROW), Venture Securities, Inc., Bloom with Looms Logistics, Inc. (formerly Southern Textiles Mills, Inc.) and Biolim Holdings & Management Corporation (formerly Rescom Developers, Inc.).

Mr. Tanco is a graduate of the University of Asia and the Pacific with a Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurial Management. He obtained his Master’s in Business Administration from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business.

Mr. Ronald K. Tanco is a Member of the Board since 2017. He is currently the General Manager of Renown Resources Development Corporation. Mr. Tanco brings to the Board his varied expertise in marketing, communication, public relations and services.

A graduate of BS Agricultural Engineering, major in Power and Machineries in University of the Philippines Los Baños. He obtained his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Atty. Virgilio G. Farcon, Jr. is the Independent Director since 2017. He serves as Corporate Secretary of Ocean Aqua Blue Holdings Corp., Land Star Earth Moving Corp., Kafugan Mining Inc., Westernshore Mineral Resources Corp. Atty. Farcon is a member of Philippine Bar Association and Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is formerly a Director of Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Rizal Chapter. He brings to the Board his varied expertise in finance, public relations and services.

He finished Bachelor of Laws and graduated with Honors at the Ateneo de Manila University.

Atty. Luis Y. Benitez is an Independent Director of Philippines First Insurance since 2019. He serves as a Member of the Audit and Risk Management Committee of SM Development Corp. and Highlands Prime, Inc. He is also an Independent Trustee at the Insular Life Assurance Co., Ltd. He was a former Vice Chairman and Senior Partner of SGV & CO. He has expansive experience in the field of public accounting and business advisory services.

Atty. Benitez finished Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.at the University of the Philippines. He is also a graduate of Banking and Finance at Pacific Rim Bankers, University of Washington. He did his MBA at the New York University.

He brings to the Board his varied experience in the financial industry.

Mr. Martin K. Tanco is a Member of the Board since 2020. He is also serving as Senior Vice President of Philippines First Insurance Co., Inc. He serves as a Member of the Board of STI Education Services Group, Inc., Coats Manila Bay, Inc. and TechGlobal Data Center Inc. His expertise was shaped from various positions held throughout the years as the President for Phil First Condominium, Vice President for Manila Bay Thread Corporation and Diliman Realty Corp, and Investment Director for Philplans First, Inc. Prior to his work experience in the Philippines, Mr. Tanco held managerial roles in Tootal Thread Indonesia, Jinying Spinning Mill in China, Coats Natal Thread in South Africa, Coats American in USA, Comphania de Linhas Coats y Clark in Portugal.

He earned his undergraduate degree of BS Electrical Engineering, graduate degree of MS Electrical Engineering, and MBA from the University of Southern California.
